An open online seminar focused on Clinical Research in the Digital Era was held as part of the continuing education course “Investigator-Initiated Clinical Studies with Digital Tools” in December 2025.

The session was moderated by João Fonseca from the FMUP/RISE and brought together speakers from academia, industry, and digital health, creating a space for discussion on the digital transformation of clinical research. The program featured Pedro Coelho from Biorce, who opened the session with the presentation “Clinical trial in one click: myth or the future?”, followed by Catarina Madeira from CoLabTrials, who introduced the Trials Ready initiative, highlighting how digital innovation and collaboration can strengthen clinical research practice. After the first discussion session, the seminar continued with Luís Magalhães from Promptly, who presented “Complete solutions of Real-world evidence”, and Daniel Dias from FMUP/RISE, who shared insights on the application of artificial intelligence in primary healthcare.

The event concluded with a second discussion session involving Luís Azevedo, Tiago Jacinto, Janete Santos, and António Soares (FMUP/RISE), fostering a dynamic and multidisciplinary exchange on the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation in clinical research.
